One week until New Missionary Orientation!!!
This picture accurately shows how I feel about next week (mixed with a little nervousness of course)! I cannot believe the time has finally arrived for New Missionary Orientation. It seemed like it would never come but after months, a couple visits to Brazil, praying, a doctrine interview, planning, and opening up my own jewelry site, the moment has finally arrived. I wanted to send out a short update on the past week and what will be happening in the next couple weeks ahead.
Last week, some dear friends were visiting from Brazil - Maicol, Mandy, and their 2 daughters (Stella and Cami). Stella calls me her little sunshine, and I am honored to be her friend. Below is a picture of her and I at the ABWE table at Liberty's Global Focus Week. I got to have a few really good conversations with Mandy and Maicol about what is next for me as I continue to prepare, raise financial support, sell my jewelry to fundraise, and seek individuals to join me in praying for what God has in store. I will send more about how you can join me in these things after New Missionary Orientation. It was truly a gift from God that they were here and that I got to spend the time with them that I did. I will miss them but am also very excited to be in Brazil near them in the future.
I head to New Missionary Orientation next week (3/5-3/12). There I will receive so much training to prepare me for going to Brazil as well as meet other missionaries from all over the world, meet others who plan to go to other countries to share the Gospel (like me!), and go through my final interview where I will either be placed or denied in moving forward as a missionary with ABWE. I keep reminding myself that if God wants me to go, He will open the door. If not, I pray He closes it. I feel confident God knows exactly what I will need, and He will be right by my side in everything that is to come. A friend shared a verse with me this weekend, and it has stuck with me in all that is currently happening in my life and in the lives of those close to me. May it encourage you all as well in the weeks ahead.
"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you." Isaiah 26:3
Please join me in prayer for the next few weeks, the decisions that will be made, and that my mind would remain steadfast on the Lord. Also, I implore you to consider if and how you would like to partner with me in going to Brazil to share the Good News of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection that gives us new life, a hope, and a future. That's all for now. As I said, this is a short update to let you all know what is coming next for me and asking you to pray alongside me. I will send a message after New Missionary Orientation to let you all know the outcome. Thank you for praying with me. I am so thankful for you all and how God has encouraged me through each one of you in numerous ways. Let me know if there is anything that I can also be praying for you guys about.
